Abstract

The article presents the results of surveys of several types of soils of altitudinal sequence in the submontane zone of the Ile Alatau. It is shown that in the process of agricultural use, the indicators of soil fertility (chernozem, light-brown, dark brown soils) of the submontane zone of the Ile Alatau (granulometric texture, humus level, total nitrogen content, phosphorous content, potassium content, labile potassium content, carbonates) are subject to noticeable changes compared with virgin soil, especially in the topsoil.
