Abstract
Osteoma is a rare benign condition of nose and paranasal sinus. most commonly seen in frontal sinus and less common in ethmoid and maxillary sinus. Diagnosis of frontal osteoma is a chance or may grow enough to produce opthalmological and neurological complication. Etiology of frontal sinus osteoma is multifactorial. Surgical management is site and size specific. A combination of open surgery and endoscopic methods would help to complete removal of the tumour, which avoid the reoccurance. Here we report a case of frontoethmoid osteoma about 6 x 4 cms. We have made extensive study of frontal osteoma in terms of incidence, etiology, pathology, clinical presentation, complications important management in development. The available literature and our own experience suggest even large osteoma arising in frontoethmoidal region can be completely removed surgically with minimum complication. The surgical approach can be varied according to the extent of the tumour, size of the tumour and patient consideration. A regular followup is necessary in asymptomatic cases in the view of potential complication.
