From the Library Region Studies to the Library Regionality: State and Prospects of Research

The main directions of theoretical researches and practical activities in modern national library study as a part of local lore are stated. The expediency of widening of scales of local history activity of libraries to library regionalism as ideology and the strategy of ensuring interests of regions is proved. It is determined that libraries activity in local studies, as well as general scientific studies, are concentrated mainly on the formation, storage and use of the regional and local documents collection; the formation, management and use of the regional bibliographic and bibliographic apparatus; creation of the system of bibliographic manuals for local studies and databases; library and bibliographic service of local information resources. The expediency of extending the scope of libraries linguistic activity to library regionalism as an ideology and strategy of ensuring the interests of the regions is substantiated. The prospect of deploying the library’s regional resource in the direction of interactivity, with elements of feedback with the users is determined.
