Abstract
Education system, due to the constant and rapid updating of knowledge, should form the need for continuous independent mastering of knowledge and skills of selfeducation. In normative legal documents of all levels it is stated about the need to form a person able to think creatively, to find non-standard solutions. The importance of revealing the abilities of each student, raising a decent and patriotic person, a person ready to live in a high-tech, competitive world is not just a legal norm, which should be guided by the school, but by the request of time, society and future. In the context of social request for an active and creative personality, the problem of individualization of education has acquired special urgency and importance. Main condition for the implementation of this problem is the study and consideration of individual psychological, age-specific characteristics of students and the construction on this basis of student-centred education and education. At the same time, in the actual practice of the modern education system there is a contradiction, due on the one hand to the need to disclose the abilities of each student in accordance with the requests of time and society, and the existence of a class-andlesson system which, in a situation of coexistence and interaction of many students at the same time, hampers individualization of. The need to resolve this contradiction determines the problem of research, the essence of which is that the existing class-and-lesson system in modern socio-cultural and economic conditions is outdated, does not take into account the individual abilities of pupils, which in turn leads to the search for alternative forms of organization of educational process in modern school. One of the means of individualization of education in the current conditions may be the organization of education using distance learning technologies.
