Abstract

In this study, Passolig (e-ticket) system which started in 2014 and since then made many debates on have examined with Turkey press, its corner posts writers and the news about Passolig. Passolig system also examined with the context of consumption culture. Passolig (e-ticket) system started on 14th April 2014 with the number of 6222 law that called “Sporda Şiddet ve Düzensizliği Önleme”. This law is the first legislative regulation about sport in Turkey so far. Today, consumption and consumption culture feels its presence on the sport but especially football, like it feels every parts of life. There have been strong bound between football and consumption culture after the industrialism and commercialism of football. Passolig cards which has been using after the Passolig system can be used as a credit card. That reveals the relate between consumption culture and the passolig system. In Turkey, football is very important sport that many of the people interests about it. The fan organizations of Turkish clubs is the biggest non-governmental organizations of Turkey and the football matches also cruical social incidents. Because of that reasons, examining the Passolig system with its economic, social, and politic context is very important. The scope of the study is examining various Turkish newspapers which are have different ideological tends. There are five daily mainstream -Birgün, Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet, Yeni Şafak, Yeniçağ-, and three sport newspapers -Fanatik, Fotomaç, AMK- have examined in this article.
