RUH ADAM ROMANINDAKİ UYGUR MASALI VE İŞLEVİ

Contemporary and modern writers sometimes use folklore products in various ways. One of these products is tale. Fairy tales are independent products of anonymous folk literature. However, they are included in other literary texts as well as individual products. The fairy tales are regarded as texts that carry the mythological foundations of the society and the national culture codes. They usually have a function that reflects the culture of a nation, as well as carrying that nation's culture from one generation to the next. It is known that fairy tale texts, which contain extraordinary events, undertake a function giving aesthetic pleasure and educative task. In recent times, it is seen that such traditional narratives are used as a part of the narration in modern narratives (in the novel and in the story) or transformed into modern narratives. This can be seen in contemporary texts in two ways: converting traditional narrative to modern text, or using intertextuality in a modern text. “Uygur tale”, which is the subject of our study, is a tale which Hüseyin Nihal Atsız wrote and placed in the beginning of the novel “Ruh Adam”. In this study, “Uygur Tale” in Ruh Adam novel will be examined according to Propp method.
