In this study we are analysing the reason of the rapid expansion of English video game slang and means of it replenishment as well as the areas of its possible use and the effect it has on the standardised language. Slang can be defined as a language subsystem that is not included into standardised literary language, is emotionally charged, used by a specific social or professional group and quickly reacts to social and cultural trends.
