Abstract
Serous cystadenoma of the pancreas is a benign lesion of the pancreas that most commonly occurs in the body and tail of pancreas. These tumours occur almost always only in adults and have a definite female preponderance. Aetiology of this lesion is uncertain, but an association with Von-Hippel Lindau syndrome has been documented. Here we present a 35 year old female with abdominal pain for ten days duration, which upon evaluation revealed a cystic lesion near the neck of the pancreas. The tumour was resected and pancreaticojejunostomy was done. Subsequent histopathological examination showed it to be a serous cystadenoma. The clinical presentation, histopathological features, differential diagnosis and management of serous cystadenoma of the pancreas are discussed here.
