Abstract
The article presents a description of the principle of competition in the civil procedural law of Ukraine, as one of the main bases. A general assessment of the concept and essence of competition was carried out, the peculiarity of its emergence and development in the framework of civil proceedings was described, and the development of civil procedural competition in Ukraine was separately presented. It is determined that the adversarial principle is presented in the theory and practice of civil proceedings in all procedural branches of national law. Was made analysis of the problems of securing the principle of competition in the new edition of the Civil Procedural Code of Ukraine, in which a comparison is made with its previous legislative consolidation and features of manifestation in civil proceedings.
