Abstract
The aim of the state's social policy in the area of housing policy is to create conditions that all citizens can satisfy their housing needs in acceptable and decent conditions, which corresponds to the overall level of socioeconomic development. The social housing sector is reserved for the individuals and households lacking the necessary funds to obtain an adequate housing in the standard housing market. This disadvantaged position in the society can be temporary and, inter alia, linked to a certain phase of a lifecycle or can be caused by a disability. On the other hand, it can also have a permanent character resulting from the socioeconomic situation.
