TRAUMATIC PLACENTAL ABRUPTION AND SPLENIC RUPTURE IN PREGNANCY- a case report

Trauma complicates upto 7 percent of pregnancies and is associated with significant maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. We report here a case of blunt injury abdomen with splenic rupture and abruptio placenta from our institution. A 21 years old primi was admitted with complaints of abdominal pain following accidental fall. Caesarean section was done in view of abruptio placenta grade II with unfavourable cervix. Intra operatively splenic rupture with haemoperitoneum was identified. splenectomy was done and patient recovered well without any complications.
