Abstract

Object of your work is experimental research of possibilities and application conditions of automatic gas-extinguishing plant on base of isotermic gas fire extinguishing modules for liquid carbon dioxide (MIZU) intended for fire protection in vertical steel tanks with oil. Work represents results of full-scale fire test of fire extinguishing with carbon dioxide in vertical steel tank with partly dismantled roof (volume 2000 m3 ) filled with diesel oil. Gas-extinguishing plant consist of MIZU volume 16 m3 connected with distributional loop pipeline Du 80 mm, mounted on tank's upper chord, by main pipeline Du 150 mm 82 m long. Eight spray nozzles for carbon dioxide supply mounted on distributional pipeline were adaxial placed into tank. On the grounds of existing literary information and requirements of regulations it was anticipatorily assumed that for fire extinguishing in tank it is necessary to supply no less then 13 kg of carbon dioxide to 1 m3 surface of burning oil product. Two tests were done, during first test time of diesel oil free combustion was taken as 126 seconds, and during second test — 142 seconds. Received information after test — automatic gas-extinguishing plant on base of MIZU is capable to supply fire extinguishing on fire starting stage in tank with support of taken feeding rate of ÑÎ2 13 kgm2 in time no more then 60 seconds. Received data were confirmed by series of analogous natural tests of fire extinguishing in tank (volume 5000 m3 ) with completely dismantled roof which didn't reveal Scaled influence of vessel's area on taken feeding rate of ÑÎ2 to 1 m2 area of burning oil product.
