Abstract
Phlegmatization by inert gases, including nitrogen of membrane division belongs to number of perspective ways of ensuring fire safety of processes of preparation and carrying out repair work on tanks for oil and oil products. As the specified way assumes essential capital investments, one of topical issues of its application is optimization of a consumption of inert gas. As a large number of factors can have impact on amount of inert gas demanded for phlegmatization at a purge (the location of an entrance and exhaust outlet, the direction of supply of inert gas, etc.), detection of the most optimum scheme of a purge of the horizontal tank was the purpose of this work.
