Abstract
The article discusses the issue of reformations in Saxon higher education as an essential component of the Lutheran confessionalization. The author analyses the principles and aims of the Saxon universities's work. It defines the main features of organisation, educational programmes, and means of administrative supervision. In conclusion the important role of universities in the formation of statehood on the Electorate of Saxony is identified.
