Abstract
Nowadays, more and more attention is paid to the process related to the language teaching. Therefore, there is an increasing need to update the teacher's tools. Innovative approaches that make the learning process more effective and interesting for students are in a high demand today. That´s why the article analyses the current issue of teaching Russian and English as a foreign languages in the context of a comparative approach. The essence of the comparative approach is to find and understand the similarities and differences in the compared languages.
