Abstract
Rupture of a renal angiomyolipoma and massive retroperitoneal hemmorhage is very rare and occasionally fatal .Its association with pregnancy has been reported sporadically in literature. We report here a case of 33yrs old P2L2 delivered vaginally and referred to as for acute onset of severe pallor and oliguria seven hours after delivery .On laprotomy a large retroperitoneal mass of 20x18 cm was seen arising from the right kidney along with a large retroperitonel hematoma .With the help of an Urologist right kidney with the mass was dissected from the Inferior vena cava and right total nephrectomy was completed as a life saving measure .Specimen sent for histopathology , turned out to be a renal angiomyolipoma. The patient recovered well and was discharged in a good condition.
