Abstract
Steroid cell tumors of the ovary are extremely rare, accounting for only 0.1 percentage of all ovarian tumors. Of these, steroid cell tumors, not otherwise specified (NOS) constitute about 56 percentage of all steroid cell tumors. Most steroid cell tumors secrete steroid hormones, and only about 10 percentage to 15 percentage of patients are asymptomatic. Steroid cell tumors, not otherwise specified (NOS) occur at any age but typically at a younger age (mean, 43 years) than other types of steroid cell tumor. We report a case of steroid cell tumor, not otherwise specified (NOS) in a 49 year old lady.
