THE IMPORTANT SOURCE OF SHOLOKHOV IMAGERY

The horse plays a special role in lives of Cossacks; there are many words of "horse" subject in their dialect. In the modern Russian literary language, there is a special Lexical-Semantic Group nominating ?Colours of horses?. It is made by lexemes with phraseologically connected meanings. These words are an important source of imagery of M.A. Sholokhov. The transformations of group words by the writer are shown on the example of an adjective of bay.
