Abstract
An internal abdominal herniation is the protrusion of an abdominal organ through a normal or abnormal mesenteric or peritoneal aperture. Internal hernias are uncommon causes of small bowel obstructions. Paraduodenal hernias are the most common causes of internal hernias. Correct preoperative diagnosis of paraduodenal hernia had been difficult due to non-specific clinical presentations, but the advent of modern imaging technology makes early and correct diagnosis possible. The number of these cases reported in literature is sparse making it a rare form of hernia necessitating detailed study. Both lap and open methods are used. A case of Right paraduodenal hernia is reported along with the review of literature
