HEAT TRANSFER MAGNIFICATION IN DOUBLE TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH NANOFLUID AND TUBE INSERT

Abstract
Heat transfer magnification is demanded in many industrial applications. The natural problem is we need to slow down the flow as well as spread fluids run near axis to surface that is turbulence the flow etc without affecting the pump work. In other words minimize the pumping loss and maximize the heat transfer. The same is objective f this research. The heat transfer enhancement is carried out with focus on two parts in the horizontal type double tube heat exchanger system. The first part tube of the system, in which the flow turbulence / mixing of fluid /swirl flow and slow down flow on the tube side is done with help of selected twisted tape insert with twist ratio 7. The plain water and plain tube is employed in conventional system. But in the new system Nanofluid and Twisted tape insert is recommended. Al2O3 - Water Nanofluid, SiO2 - Water Nanofluid, CuO - Water Nanofluid and ZnO - Water Nanofluid were considered. The experimental results discussed and outperformed SiO2 - Water Nanofluid with twited tape insert setup is suggested for maximum amplification
