Abstract

This study explored the impact of strategic decision on the performance of development finance banks in Nigeria. The particular targets were to decide; the impact of credit management on financial status of the banks and to find out the connection between image management and the satisfaction of its client. The investigation embraced survey structure. The sample size comprised 90 staff from the advancement or loan and account department, chosen deliberately from southeast, Nigeria. Information gathered utilizing the survey research instrument which was structured on a 5 point Likert Scale was physically directed to the respondents. An aggregate of Ninety (90) polls was directed to the respondent, while eighty (80) were finished and returned. The legitimacy of the instrument was estimated utilizing face legitimacy, and this was finished by three administration specialists from both the business and the scholarly world. Information gathered were analysed using Simple Linear Regression and Pearson Product Moment Correlation, at 5% degree of freedom. The examination uncovered that Credit management significantly and positively influenced the productivity, and picture management altogether and vigorously identified with the consumer loyalty of development finance banks. The study therefore, concluded that the performance of development finance banks depend on the effectiveness of strategic decision and Recommended that Development finance banks should adopt modern technology in the management of Credit and recovery of loan, and Top management team should design a global product that will be customer oriented. This will help to retain and manage their image as well as enhance customer satisfaction.
