Abstract
Green technology is an innovation form of energy and has become the popular issue in Malaysia. The green technology innovation is to have road marking that highly visible, eco-friendly and can bring sustainability as well. A glow in the dark material is convenient of having the unique capability to emit light long after the excitation has ended. This study introduced different quantities of glow in the dark powder to thermoplastic material to achieve luminescence. The glow in the dark marking was investigated in term of charging time, lux received, luminance emitted and their performance evaluation. Result shows that the glow in the dark road marking is only effective when there are no light sources around. Nonetheless, this might have the potential to minimize streetlight and at the same time increase visibility and safety of road user when worked properly.
