Abstract

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are highly mobile wireless networks that are designed to support vehicle safety, traffic control, and other related applications. Within VANETs, vehicle movement will cause the communication links between vehicles to frequently be disconnected. Such connection breakages require a direct request response from the routing protocols, leading to high increase in the routing processing time and degradation in network scalability. A new hybrid position-based routing protocol that is particularly designed to address this issue. Our new protocol combines features of on demand routing with position-based geographic routing in a manner that efficiently uses all the position information available. The protocol is designed to gracefully windsup to on demand routing as the position information attaining low level . We show through analysis that our protocol is scalable and has an optimal overhead, even in the presence of position errors. Our protocol provides an enhanced yet pragmatic location-enabled solution that can be deployed in all VANET-type environments. We propose our hybrid routing with some QOS constraints. The forwarding node should be selected based on some Qos values among such which on having lower delay, higher bandwidth, higher energy values. So that we can reduces delay, increase energy and throughput.
