Abstract
The author describes features of traditional men's clothing of the Arabs of the Persian Gulf, as im- portant marker of ethnic identity of inhabitants of the region. Results of the extended analysis of the material connected with names of parts of man's clothes and their distribution are given. In addition, the special attention is paid to different variants of traditional clothing and governmental policy of the states of the Persian Gulf in maintaining its status.
