Abstract

The aim of this article is to introduce and critical edition of Abû's-Senâ Shamseddin al- Isfahânî's (674-749/1276-1349) book Nâzi-ru'l-‘Ayn. As it is known, starting with Aristoteles (B.C. 384-322), the logic writing tradition, came into being under name of Orga-non due to collecting his books about logic by his some comman-taries after him. Adding five universals (eisagoge) to Organon, the number of classic logic's chapter became nine. After translation movements in the Muslim Worlds, it was come to write as ten chapters with adding the chapter word and indication to it. In time, various of logic writing style were manifested, one of them was to write logic books as compendious. The most famous exam-ple of book writing that style are Alî b. Ömer el-Kâtibî's (675/1277) Shamsiyya and Esiruddin el-Ebherî's (663/1265) Eisagoge. Our subject of this study, Nâziru'l-‘Ayn, is shorter than the former and longer than the latter according to size. On the other hand, contextually it, like Shamsiyya, touches on almost all of subjects of classic logic.
