Abstract
The peculiarities of etymology, semantics and lexical characteristics of socio-economic terms "entrepreneurship" and "entrepreneur" widespread at the present time are examined in the article. Their etymology is specified. This article is an attempt to align the semantic and lexical meaning. Three variants of lexical characteristics for entrepreneurship are given.
