Abstract
The history of the pictorial expression (embodiment) of literary images in Azerbaijan art with a centu- ries-old history has quite old and rich traditions. General development of culture in Azerbaijan called forth great interest for literary and pictorial arts, becoming spiritual food for people. The period covering XII–XV centuries can rightly be considered a Rebirth for the Oriental and also Azerbaijan art. Sensible development of literary culture and its enrichment by new pictorial traditions was quite a natural process. Traditions of the Oriental and Azerbaijan pictorial and applied arts of the XI–XII centuries and further on, which the Europeans named as “miniature”, show that the major medium for expression were “literary images”, and style usually used by local masters
