Abstract
The Catholic clergy in Volyn in the interwar period and during the Second World War played an exceptionally important role. Apart from pastoral ministry, they were also advisors to the inhabitants of given towns and villages. They were the ones who presented facts from the history of the homeland, stimulated noble deeds in defense of the homeland, as well as performers of such an important role from today's point of view by recording the history of families and towns. Priests in the years of genocide demonstrated a particularly important attitude. First of all, they are the source of reliable sources of the murders of Poles-Catholics by Ukrainian nationalist gangs. Giving us this kind of knowledge they risked their lives, which can be evidenced by the fact that the fanatics of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army symbolically murdered 75 priests and monks only in Volyn.
