Artistic prose as “the carrier of memory” about the martyrdom of the Borderlands

Artisic prose is a special type of literature. However, it can function at the same time as a “storage medium”. The memory of the Borderlands has been preserved thanks, among others things, to the borderlands writers and their works. The topics taken up in prose consolidate the recipient's awareness concerning the issues related to the social life of the Borderlands, Ukrainian nationalism and Ukrainian nationalist organizations, as well as the genocide of the Polish population in the Borderlands. Literature, in the form of literary fiction, processes reality and preserves it for the future.
