Abstract

Nowadays administration of blocker of if-channels – coraxan (ivabradine) finds increasingly wide application in medicine for reduction of sinus tachycardia. Best studied is use of this drug in patients with stable angina. In article case of successful application of coraxan is described in a patient after thromboembolectomy performed in the branches of the pulmonary artery in acute massive bilateral TEPA with the postoperative period running with phenomena of cardiac failure. The patient was examined using the following methods: MSCT, ECG, ECHO-CG. Thus, control of HR in patients with acute cardiac failure after cardiac surgery including those requiring administration of cardiotonic drugs and at the same time needing reduction of HR can be achieved with use of if-channel blocker – coraxan.
