Abstract
The article deals with theoretical and applied aspects of social and psychological competence of social services employees: concept, structure, types. The structure of socio-psychological competence includes communicative, perceptual and interactive. Communicative competence is not only an empathic property (empathy), but also knowledge about the ways of orientation in different situations, free possession of verbal and nonverbal means of communication, the ability to establish and maintain contact with clients and productively exit a business conversation. Having perceptual competence means being able to portray other people based on visual symptoms. Competence in the field of interaction is reduced to knowledge about the nature of social influences, the ability to interact effectively, etc. Professional competence of a specialist in social work is expressed in the level of his knowledge of the relevant terms, concepts, definitions, definitions, that is, mastering a certain Glossary in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional standard. Everyday social and psychological competence is the result of socialization, i.e. adaptation to specific conditions. The article also presents the results of a study of the level of social and psychological competence of social service employees, the factors that determine it, as well as the ways of its development. Most social service employees have an average level of social and psychological competence. The level of social and psychological competence of social service employees depends on their personal characteristics. The development of social and psychological competence of social service employees is carried out within the framework of professional training and professional development.
