Abstract

The article highlights the main results of our research. The expediency of introducing a set of special exercises in the system of physical education of schoolchildren with intellectual disabilities is substantiated, which will promote the adaptive capacity of their body. The purpose of the study was to increase the corrective influence on the development of students through physical education and to update the structure and content of relevant work. On the basis of theoretical analysis of scientific literature and study of the experience of special educational institutions, the main difficulties of physical development of students with intellectual disabilities were determined, in particular – the development of general motor skills and fine motor skills. An empirical study of the development of students' motor skills was carried out on such indicators as speed and accuracy of movements. Examination of children's movements was conducted in two stages: the study of the development of fine motor skills and separately – the development of general motor skills. Control sections were performed both before and after the experimental training. The content of the experimental training was the introduction into the educational process of our set of exercises and tasks for the development and improvement of motor skills, as well as the development of fine motor skills. Applying appropriate organizational and methodical techniques provided for strengthening the correctional direction of physical education of students. When choosing the necessary teaching methods and teaching aids, we were guided by the need for students to develop skills such as agility, speed, coordination, balance, orientation in space – that is, those indicators of motor skills, which are usually underdeveloped in children of this category. The results obtained during the control test tasks demonstrate the dynamics of development of fine hand motility and general motor skills, improvement of motor qualities, which testifies to the sufficient efficiency of the complex of exercises and tasks offered by us.
