Abstract
This paper describes the implementation and control of a management system for HVAC installation in a family house. The HVAC system provides heating and cooling as well as hot water and open swimming pool water heating for a three-floor house in a residential area. The liquid medium is heated by solar panels and oil furnace. There is also a heat pump and the swimming pool can be considered as a large heat storage unit. Besides previously mentioned devices, the system also comprises two heat tanks – one for hot and one for cold water. The control and management system design was started only after all of the above mentioned HVAC systems were mounted and put into operation. These were initially controlled manually and separately which proved not only highly inefficient but also considerably impractical for the household members. The control and management system was realised using central electrical cabinet housing relays, contactors, controller and other gear as well as the main control switch board. As a result, a simple and intuitive system was presented, a system that used every component only when necessary.
