Abstract
Linear permanent magnet generators are being studied for low-speed applications in environments whose working conditions do not allow or it is not recommended to implement rotary generators, either due to the complexityof the construction or the power that can be generated. This article presents the results obtained from the modeling of a linear permanent magnet generator for low powers through the use of the finite element method, indicating the aspects taken into account for the design of the generator and the behaviors observed through computational software. Thanks to in-depth research and a compilation of the information developed at the time, a topology is proposed and modeled in 2D in COMSOL and the expected results provided by the selected characteristics are exposed. The operation of the device is explained and the respective recommendations for future works are given.
