Abstract
This paper discussed how creativity and innovation in the Nigerian educational system will enhance sustainable development using secondary data. It also reviewed creativity and innovation as a tool for empowerment, the challenges such as examination malpractice and inadequate resources; prospects of creativity and innovation in educational system such as methodology, supply of resources and examination malpractice. Creativity and innovation for sustainable development was discussed. Recommendations that qualified teachers at all levels of educational system should be employed, more efforts should be put in training for teachers, top security men should be used to check all form of examination malpractice and that creativity and innovation strategies should be implemented in all levels of education were made. The paper concluded that creativity and innovation in the educational system will enhance sustainable development in Nigeria.
