Abstract
Purpose of this study is to design optimization of gauge area dimensions ratio of integral strain gauge balance and selection type of element, size for meshing process. The strain gauge balance maximum diameter of the balance 25mm and length 200mm is presented. The material used for the strain gauge balance is 17-4PH stainless steel. Initially the strain gauge three dimensional model is designed in unigraphics design software and the model imported to hypermesh software forthe purpose of meshing and analysis. Designer is to choose the element size and shape on the basis of time taking for meshing and percentage of error. The integral strain gauge balance designed with Minimum factor of safety is 2 and maximum stress 681 N/mm² is permitted
