Abstract

The article makes a comparative analysis of female images with a common name in the novels of N. M. Karamzin «Poor Liza» and A. S. Pushkin «Young lady-peasant», reveals the artistic principles of their creation in the historical and literary context-taking into account the peculiarities of literary trends, within which the artistic method of each author was formed. The characters of heroines and the poetics of female images are considered in detail through the prism of aesthetic concepts of sentimentalism, romanticism, realism, and various meanings of love motives in the ideological and artistic structure of works are revealed.
