On the social and legal conditionality of detention as the most severe measure of criminal procedure coercion

The article considers the grounds and features of applying a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody of the accused. The authors come to the conclusion about the social and legal conditionality of detention as the most severe measure of criminal procedure coercion, the use of which is due to the need to ensure the possibility of criminal proceedings and the protection of persons involved in such proceedings.
