Abstract

Before the invention of cement lime concrete is used for the construction purposes, all our historical and ancient building is made of lime concrete but now with invention of cement usage of lime is limited. Concrete is mostly mixture of cement sand and aggregate; modern technology helps us to remove all these materials partially or fully. Replacement of cement completely is not possible but aggregate which occupy 70 to 80 percent concrete can be replaced fully or partially. Waste glass which can be locally available in every place can be used as an alternative of aggregate and also alternative of cement but in powdered form either replacing coarse aggregate or fine aggregate depend on their crushed size. In this study casting of moulds is done by replacing fine aggregate with waste glass of size 2.36 mm in various percentage (0%. 10%, 20%, 30%, & 40%). After obtaining maximum value of waste glass in concrete glass fiber is added with it in ratio (0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%) to improve strength of concrete. The investigation aims to check limit upto which waste glass can replace by sand for M25 (1:1:2) grade concrete and also the combined effect of waste glass and glass fiber on concrete properties. Mechanical properties of concrete were evaluated at 7, 14, 28, and 56 days curing period
