Abstract
In the new era, the researches on the antenna use are achieved better thought and good enhancement in different features. A microstrip patch antenna by a single layer substrate structure is designed in this manuscript. The dielectric substrate layer has a height of 1.6mm. Thus the diverse parameters like gain, directivity, return loss and VSWR are examined for a single layer construction of dielectric substrate. The aerial is designed for the resonant frequency of 2.4GHz. The dielectric substrate material employed for the aerial design is FR4 (Flame Retardant-4) having a permittivity of 4.4. The designed aerial has frequency band that can be used for WLAN applications. Microstrip line feeding method is employed to energize the antenna. The planned aerial is optimized using CST microwave studio.
