Abstract
The present age of science and technology have given rise to a lot of technology driven platforms. Amongst these, social media has gain a wide range of popularity across the world. To name a few, social media platforms include facebook, whatsapp, youtube, instagram, twitter, telegram and so on. Today, the young generations are using these platforms for enormous purposes. The present study is concerned with the pattern of uses of social media among B.Ed students, who are pursuing the course under Gauhati University. The study is based on both primary and secondary sources of data and the researcher has used descriptive survey method for the purpose of the study. It has found that the respondents are well aware about the uses of social media platforms and they are using these platforms for multiple purposes whether it is related to educational, cultural or social spheres and so on
