Abstract

The study identifies the effect of leadership style and stress of the academic administrators of selected educational institutions of Delhi NCR. This is a qualitative exploratory study to find the correlation between the leadership style and the stress of academic administrators. The researcher surveyed 69 head of departments from the educational sector of Delhi NCR. Leadership Questionnaire developed by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard and Stress Questionnaire by A. Pines and E. Aronson has used. The researcher has used Karl Pearson Coefficient of Correlation and Spearman's Rank Coefficient of correlation as statistical too to find the relation in stress and leadership style more accurately. A limited sample size might be the limiting factor in analyzing the relation between stress and leadership style. In its wider scope, there are many aspects affecting leadership style ad stress but this study only concentrates on their effect on each other. The study has identified that there is a positive moderate correlation between S2 and S4 leadership styles and the stress of the leader. The relation between leadership effectiveness and the stress level of the academic administrator is positive moderate. So, there exists a relation between these three attributes of an academic administrator
