BASIC INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY SKILLS’ NEED OF LECTURERS FOR UTILISATION OF ELEARNING PLATFORM IN UNIVERSITIES IN ENUGU STATE

Abstract
The study focused on the basic information and communications technology skills' need of lecturers for utilisation of eLearning platform in universities in Enugu State. The survey study had one research question and two hypotheses. The population for the study was 2,994 lecturers and a sample of 400 respondents. A structured questionnaire with 15-items was used to collect data. The research instrument was face validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha was adopted in determining the internal consistency which yielded a reliability index of 0.89. Four hundred copies of the instrument were administered on the respondents, out of which 364 copies were successively retrieved for were analysed. Data were analysed using mean ( x ) to answer the research questions at criterion value point of 2.50, standard deviation (SD) to test the level of disparity of the responses of the respondents and t-test to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 () level of significance.
