Abstract
This research has an objective to study the application of the plant layout system for improvement efficiency of bottle selection process in storage area. The 2 alternative layouts of bottle selection plant were evaluated by 4 criteria (1) Utilization of storage area 2) Utilization of operation area 3) Transport distance and 4) Percent of efficiency) and analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The result showed that first plant was suitable for the previous factory. The result shown Utilization of storage area was 46.34% more than the current layout that was 31.71% or increase 14.63%. Utilization of operation area decrease from 68.29% to 53.66% or decrease 14.63%. Next, Transport distance for trucks was 1,138 meters due to distance has reduced form current layout as 2,618 meters or reduce 56.53% and transport distance for forklifts has reduced from current layout as 3,970 to 2,214 meters or reduce 44.23%.
