Abstract
The significant intention of the study is to identify the appropriate manner of solar energy harvesting system for Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The literature review includes various traditional research approaches and their demerits in the context of WSN. Solar power generation has tremendous progress due to its renewable, ecofriendly, low maintenance, and noise-free nature. Although, the solar energy having notable benefits, certain drawbacks like the performance of solar power generation purely depend on weather conditions, such as ambient temperature and solar irradiance. The literature illustrates, it is essential to equipped Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to extract maximum power from PV module. Various traditional approaches such as P & O, INC, etc. are inadequate to resolve the computational constraints of identifying the appropriate duty cycle to trigger the DC to DC converters. The review exhibits the performance and approaches of the MPPT controller in the context of improving the efficiency of the solar energy harvesting system for WSN.
