Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to inform about Şeh-nâme writings, poems and poetry, science and knowledge in the Ottoman period. The works such as Gazavât-nâme(s), Fetih- nâme (s) and Selîm-nâme (s) written in the Ottoman Palace focused on the Ottoman history and explained the events more extensively. In this way, the writing of Modern Historiography is approached. In this study, how poems and poetry developed in the Ottoman Palace, how it is an offifical task, how it became a modern one were analyzed. Şeh-name is accepted as the main source due to the transfer of historical events. Therefore, this study was started with a detailed literature review. In this study information was given especially about Selîm-hân-nâme by Seyyid Lokman, and internal and external parts Selîm-hân-nâme was examined. In addition, in order to visualize the work in the minds, a sample from the contents and features of the Selîm-nâme work by Seyyid Lokman was taken, and a miniature, a writing style and edge decorations were added to the study.
