UNIVERSITIES WORLD RANKING SYSTEMS AND UKRAINIAN EDUCATION IN THEM

Restructuring the countries' economy on an innovative basis, the transfer to higher technological systems due to the development of science and technology, increasing human capital and sustainable development necessitates the recognition of the crucial role of higher education based on maximizing the potential of higher education. The article analyzes the modern world ranking systems of universities, their advantages and disadvantages. The example of the Ukrainian system of higher education shows what place Ukrainian universities occupy in the world rankings and what key success factors stimulate them to increase their rankings every year. Based on the analysis of the main indicators that make up the ratings in the universities rating systems, it has been concluded that all of them can be considered as indicators not only of universities competitiveness, as they characterize the level of quantitative and qualitative parameters of the university in world statistics. The results of the analysis of the obtained rating positions according to the established indicators are the basis for identifying the causes of deviations, and, on this basis — determining the goals and developing a strategy for the university development.
