EFFECTIVE TOOLS IN FOSTERING THE VALUES AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

In the modern age the aim of education should be the all round development of personality. The present educational system has made specific provisions for the intellectual education by giving importance to intellectual development. But very few provisions have been provided for the development of affective domain. Important human qualities such as sympathy, co-operation, mercy, compassion love, truth, sincerity etc., were somewhat neglected. The development of such human qualities along with the intellectual development should be the aim of education. (And the child learns many things in the school only). The prime learning environment is 5-16 years of age. The student spends opportunity 20,000 hours in the school campus. Mother is first teacher at home, love and affection are imparted but again most of the time of the day is spent on preparing schools homework and study, eating, playing and sleeping.
