Abstract
It is well known that sleep disorders cause poor brain function, fatigue, poor concentration, depression and anxiety. In addition, it makes it difficult to control the blood sugar levels, which increases the risk of diabetes and various complications. One of common approaches to resolve the insomnia is a drug treatment, but the side effects of the sleeping pills have been reported. For appropriate medical treatment, it is very important to diagnose accurately insomnia level through monitoring of biological signals generated from a human body. In this study, the smart sleepinducing eye mask was developed to diagnose and resolve the sleep disorder easily at home as a health care equipment. The pilot system is composed of dry EEG electrodes, analog circuit, MCU (Arduino Uno), LED, and MP3 sound. We detect EEG signal through dry eeg electrodes, detect eye blink, analyze sleep conditions, and controls LED and MP3 to treat people. We demonstrated successfully the pertinent system operation by detection of EEG waves generated from both eye blinking and eyebrow wriggling.
