QUALITY OF LIFE IN MARRIED AND UNMARRIED PEOPLE WITH CANCER

Abstract
In view of the increasing cancer patients in the state, the present study is aimed at examining the quality of life in married and unmarried people with cancer. The questionnaires were administered to a group of 30 married and 30 unmarried cancer patients who are in on-going treatment and in follow-up stage treatment from Northern parts of Kerala. The tool used was WHOQOL-BREF (Fleck, 2000). A quantitative within group design was adopted for the study. Independent-sample t-test used to analyze the collected data using SPSS 20.0. The results of the study suggest that there is a significant role in the marital status and quality of life of people with cancer.
